Per Jack Brown, "this super modified #22 was owned by Clay Reeves from Huston, Texas. Clay could really put a motor together. The driver, Hugh Richards was from Mobile, Alabama and owned a machine shop there. Hugh was a mad man behind the wheel of a race car. He would always drove that 22 so hard and could get everything possible out of it. He was the only racer I ever saw who actually scared me. One season during the 70's, this team was practically unbeatable."
