As Told by Buddy Taylor: Ikey Jerome started racing in the early 1960’s. I remember him driving for Ben Adams in the 99Jr at the old Jackson Sports Arena. I didn’t like him too much because he was our major competition back then. Miss Chicken and the 99Jr went many a mile round that old dirt track door to door. Ikey was a very good driver and went on to become the #1 driver for the Wesson Racing Club. He started racing with Jalopies and quickly moved to Modifieds. When the Asphalt track came to Jackson, Ben Adams put him in the #99 Rear Engine car. This was one of the first rear engine car to run at Jackson International Speedway.
